ROOKIE Canadian & National
For 2023, we will form two or more teams to compete in the summer interlock program, depending on registration numbers.  Teams will be entered in the Canadian division and the National division  - decisions will be based on registration numbers and skills levels.  A tryout will be held to assess skill levels and results are used to appropriately group players.

Both divisions play two games per week plus one practice per week at the coaches discretion.  Unlike spring, games can be scheduled on any day Monday through Thursday. Rained outs may be rescheduled on weekends occasionally but not regular games. Home games are at Canterbury. Away games are typically against teams from Ottawa West, Orleans and East Nepean.Teams may participate in tournaments depending on availability and interest. 

Both divisions use a coach pitch format -  our Cdn team(s) will use the pitching machine.   All players are encouraged to participate.  We hope to accommodate all interested players and will only release players if necessary due to numbers or for significant safety concerns which is rare.     

Rookie Provincial:
There is no summer city league for the provincial level.  The league will offer a summer house league provincial program depending on available coaching. The program would run between mid July and mid August and will not include travel to play vs other associations.  The focus will be on continued skill development as well as game play through intersquad scrimmages.  Spring coaches willing to be part of this should communicate with the spring convenor by mid June.
Players excelling in the spring program may consider trying out at the Cdn/National tryout session, however if your child is still "ramping up" their baseball basic skills and confidence, it may be best for them to wait until next seaon for summer ball when they're a year older.
