South Ottawa Little League

GOBL 19U (coed)

Greater Ottawa 19U Baseball League (GOBL)

2024 Season Information:

19U is a three month program starting mid-May and finishing up mid-August.  The first day on the 19U game schedule will be Sunday May 12. This doesn't mean SOLL teams will have a game that day, but it could happen.  The final week of games is expected to be the second week in August but that's subject to change depending on rained outs and when we start. (including playoffs).  The league understands that some players in this division leave for school out of town mid August, so plans are made with that in mind.

For the first time, South Ottawa has 2 teams.  Therefore a sort out session will be required: Friday May 4 6-8pm Southgate.  League representatives, non-parent assessors along with convenor Mark Dalipaj will conduct the sort out and form two balanced teams.  The head coaches are coach Binder Khangura and Leo Cardinal.  Please note this league is wood bats only.  The league supplies wood bats for the team.

Home game diamond slots are primarily Thurs, Friday and Sunday 8:30pm.

The game schedule will be posted on the District 2 site  as soon as possible, but probably not until the week of May 8.

General Information

Little League no longer runs a program past senior.  However, local Little Leagues have created an Ottawa area league to offer boys and girls between 17 and 19 years old a place to play.

The format is a three month season which runs from mid May to mid August, inclusive of playoffs.  There are two games per week - one home and one away with playoffs and a City Champion.  There are NO provincials nor national level competitions.

Registration is open to any player in the age range - technically there are no boundary restrictions. However players are asked to register in the league closest to them.  South Ottawa opens registration on or before February 1 and it's exclusive to returning South Ottawa players for the first couple of weeks after which time new players to South Ottawa and out of boundary players can register.

Players who turn 17 on or after September 1 must play Senior Little League. Players who turn 20 at any point during the current season are ineligible for 19U.

The home diamond is Southgate (Reston Park) on Lorry Greenberg Drive. Games often have 8:30pm starting times and are played on lighted diamonds. Wood bats are used.
