  • Girls, league age 6 can play in the all girls T-Ball program or in the Rookie program.

  • To confirm your child's age division, visit our website under the FAQ or programs page for the age determination chart.

How the Program Works
T-Ball groups will have 20-25 players in each session. Players are then divided into smaller "teams" of 4-5 players.  The program format is set up into stations.  Teams progress from station to station to learn skills.  Coaches are situated at each station to help players have fun and learn the skills.

The program guide is posted on our website under the "docs, rules & policies" tab on our website.
Here are the session locations and times.

  • Saturday 9:30 am - 10:30 am - Four Seasons Park, Riverside South

  • Sunday 9:30 am - 10:30 am  Leitrim diamonds

  • Tuesday or Thursday 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm   Canterbury (beside Kilrea arena 2185 Arch Street)

  • All Girls Session: Sunday  9:30am - 10:30 - Leitrim diamonds (behind Fred Barrett arena)

  • Players can select more than one session  - for the best skill development two sessions per week is suggested where possible

  • Cost: $85.00 per program

  • Season starts second week in May and runs to the end of June.  A summer session is possible depending on interest and coaching availability.

South Ottawa is a volunteer organization. We will need parents to volunteer as convenors and coaches. Each program will require a convenor, a head coach and 4-6 assistant coaches to organize and execute the program.   Coaching at this level is not difficult.  Coaches are provided with an easy to follow  plan for each session. Coaches are encouraged to attend the spring Teaching for Tomorrow clinic, an opportunity that will be useful in T-ball and will also provide a good foundation of knowledge for progression into later divisions.

T-ball is intended to be a fun, non-competitive skills development program  Players will be exposed to the basics of baseball including hitting off a tee, catching, throwing and base running. Each session consists of fun skill development plus a short game.  Players receive a participation award at the end of the season and a photo.

The ball is hit off a tee using a soft baseball. Players run the bases and start to learn the positions.  Outs are introduced, and later in the season enforced, but do not count for inning progression. Players must have their own glove and helmet.
