Senior All-Star

2024 All-Star Program

Please visit Summer Ball tryout information page for dates and times for tryout dates and for competition dates and locations.

Players hoping for a spot on the All-Star team must attend the tryout. (National level hopefuls attend the same tryout)

If your child is unavoidably unable to attend, please provide a detailed explanation in writing to the
VP Competitive Ken Gorman ASAP and not less than 1 week before the tryout. If your child is injured a doctor's note may be required.  Your child's best opportunity to earn a spot is to be at the tryout.

The All-Star team competes in D6 Districts in late June and if successful will represent District 6 in the Provincial championships in Oakville starting right after Canada Day.   Success in Oakville means a trip to East Nepean in mid July to compete in the Canadian Championships.

In advance of trying out, parents will be asked to confirm their child's availability for District, Provincial and Canadian dates.

The team also plays in the Summer City interlock league in July & August.

Accepting a spot on the All-Star team means you'll be playing lots of baseball, especially in the lead up to districts. Nevertheless the league understands that despite the significant commitment involved, it must also be reasonable.  To be on a diamond nearly every day for most of the summer would be unreasonable and not positive for any player.

The following information is provided to give parents key dates and a sense of the commitment level.  Families with unavoidable conflicts, or with specific questions can contact VP Competitive Ken Gorman or  President Peggy Pratt   or Head Coach Colin Brearley.

After the team is formed in early June, tournaments and practices will be held to start preparation for district competition.  Once spring ball finishes at the end of June, the all-star team will start playing in the summer interlock league after Canada Day. (2 games per week).  Interlock games are suspended when the team is in districts, and during the lead up to provincials.

Districts / Provincial / Canadians Schedules
Start dates for districts etc are posted on the website.  End dates depend on how many leagues enter a team. If not all 4 D6 leagues enter a team the date range may be shortened.  Rain delays could extend it.  The format is usually double elimination at Senior. The schedule will be available in June. Teams can play on any day of the week, including two days in a row as well as during the day should two games be necessary in one day.
