Minors Nationals: FREE Practice Clinic

Hello everyone.

My name is Leo Cardinal and I am the Convenor for the South Ottawa Little League Minors Nationals group. I would like to welcome both you & your child/children to the Spring Season with Minors Nationals and am looking forward to meeting many, if not all of you.

I can tell you that things are shaping up well:

our group has 96 players registered - 18 more than last year!!!
8 teams have been formed & capped at 12 players each
the teams are balanced between player skills & coaches
many Coaches & Assistants attended various coaching clinics in the offseason
a successful Coaches Meeting was held last night with nearly everyone in attendance

You should be hearing from your Head Coach soon enough with further details, so please keep checking your email. In the meantime, however, I would like to invite every player from our group to the FREE Minors Nationals Practice Clinic.

It is taking place this Saturday, April 23, from 8:00 to 10:00am at the Superdome at Ben Franklin Park. (Located at West Hunt Club Rd & Greenbank Rd) Coaches Paul Villeneuve & Robin Kerr will be leading the clinic.

We have reserved part of the field and hope to run numerous skills stations, but we need to confirm a few things first:

only children registered in the SOLL Minors Nationals group can participate
players will need to bring the same equipment that is required for a game:

Helmet
Glove
Long pants
Protective cup (boys = Jock + girls = Jill)
Running shoes or plastic cleats
Water bottle

additional volunteers will be required to assist with stations

While we would love to have every player attend, since we are such a large group, it is possible that a limit might need to be set. As such, please reply to this email and I will keep track of the interest. If you are a Head Coach, Assistant Coach or Parent that plans to help with stations, please let me know.

Clinics like this are a great way to learn the game, meet the players + their parents and to have a good time. So, I hope to hear from many of you over the next few days and to see you all over the next few months!
