Hello everyone.
With the games completed on Tuesday evening, the regular season standings have been determined:
1st place = Orioles (19 points);
2nd place = Dodgers (14 points);
3rd place = White Sox (13 points);
4th place = Giants (13 points - White Sox won once and teams tied once);
5th place = Royals (7 points);
6th place = Tigers (6 points)
With this done, I have sorted out the Playoff Quarter Finals on Thursday - June 18 @ 6:00pm to look as follows:
Tigers @ Orioles - McCarthy Park;
Royals @ Dodgers - Pauline Vanier West;
Giants @ White Sox - Sharel Park
Even though we are entering the playoffs, everyone must remember to follow the 2015 SOLL House Rules regarding:
1) Pitchers' Rest Periods
Meaning that any players who threw 36 times or more on Tuesday - June 6, are ineligible to pitch this Thursday in the Quarter Finals. Coaches should exchange their Pitch Counts on Thursday before the game, to ensure transparency when selecting their pitchers. If your team still hasn't started tracking Pitch Counts, any player who threw 2 innings or more on Tuesday, will be ineligible to pitch in the Quarter Finals. Coaches must arrange to have a Pitching Log completed after each game and signed by the other coach.
The rest period will not apply for the Semi Finals on Tuesday - June 23, as there are 4 days of rest between games. The 36 pitch limit, however, will be in place for the rest period leading into the Final Round on Thursday - June 25.
2) Equal Play
Meaning that no player may sit for more than 1 inning in a row. Also, no player may sit for a second inning, until all players have at sat at least once (starting pitchers are excepted if still pitching).
